Part 2 - Bianca & Arthur {Kronenburg Wedding}

Working hard to get my fill,
Everybody wants a thrill
Payin’ anything to roll the dice,
Just one more time
Some will win, some will lose
Some were born to sing the blues
Oh, the movie never ends
It goes on and on and on and on

Don’t stop believin’
Hold on to the feelin’

Bianca & Arthur, ek wens vir julle oneindige geluk in julle huwelik. Julle twee is opregte mense en om julle af te neem was ‘n voorreg. Dankie dat ek kon deel wees van julle troudag.

PS: Dankie aan Retha Ferguson wat my geassisteer het. Jy is ‘n baie talentvolle fotograaf.

Part 1 - Bianca & Arthur {Kronenburg Wedding}

How did you meet?
We met the 29th of February 2008 while going out with friends. We “clicked” while having A LOT of good laughs and stayed up until the next morning talking and getting to know each other. We then went for our first date a week later after playing “hard-to-get” with one another.

We have had do many adventures together and we are best of friends. Can’t wait for the rest of our lives!

Engagement…
We got engaged the 24th of September 2011 while we were on a weekend away in Knysna (one of our favourite holiday spots). We went for a boat ride and he rushed to Brenton on the Sea for us to see the sunset. I should have known something was up, but me being me didn’t even notice Arthur being so nervous. I was playing in the sand and being silly when he said lets write in the sand…I wrote some dorky love comment (hehe) and when I turned around he was on his knee in front of this huge sign written in the sand “WILL YOU MARRY ME?”, I was in so much shock while he was saying all these wonderful things to me and then when he opened the ring box and asked if I will marry him, I started crying and shouted YES YES YES! That was one of the best memories of my life. Still get butterflies thinking about it!

Tell us more about your wedding. Where did you find inspiration? Which elements were the most important to you?

We got married the 16th of March 2013 at Kronenburg, Paarl. I woke up at 5am with this amazing feeling in my heart.
Our wedding day was the most perfect day ever. Celebrating with our family and friends, seeing my vision of the mint green, soft gold and crystals come together was mind blowing. I remember everything about that day, Arthur’s face while I was walking down the aisle, our parents’ tears of happiness, friends laughter while saying congratulations…everything PERFECT. My best part was saying “I DO” and then of course our Kiss. ;-)
One of our fondest memories was when a group of our friends started doing a “flash mob” for us, we were so surprised and in awe of these wonderful people in our lives.
Some of the elements that made our wedding day amazing was our wonderful church service, friends making music at pre-drinks, our first dance while sparklers were sparkling, the “Flash mob” and then the symbolic meaning when we lit the flying lantern to let go of our past and started with our future.

What advice do you have for future brides?
My advice is something all my friends and my sister who is already married told me…Take everything as it comes on your wedding day, Stop and take every little thing in. See the laughter and the tears, Admire your new husband and just enjoy the day.

The other advice is for the Grooms to be… HELP YOUR BRIDES TO BE. :)
I know that without Arthur running around and helping me choose everything, I would have gone insane! (haha)
Even if you just give your fiancé support and be there when things go haywire, it means a lot and will put so much more meaning into the day as “OUR” day and not just “MY” day.

Most memorable moment of your wedding.
I had 4…
When Arthur took my hand as we met at the end of the aisle and his big grin while holding back the tears
My mom and sisters faces when I finally had my wedding dress on.
When my dad and I was standing in the foyer of the church and he held on to me so tightly
And then the “Flash mob” that was a combination of 2 things I love most: MUSIC and Glee!(Hehe)

Pic(k) of the week - {Be Scared, but take Chances}

The day after Surene & Thinus’ wedding, my husband Jacques, close friend Nic, new friend Pieter & I went for an adventurous walk from Pebble- to Blue Lagoon beach in the Agulhas National Park to reward ourselves with a swim. Something I haven’t done in a long time. Wearing a cozzie is not on my list of top ten favourite things to do.

I only gave the turquoise blue water one look and found myself in the water with my Nikon Coolpix S30. A little blue bottle graciously past me. The beauty of how it floated on the ripples of the tide, this delicate creature that can cause major pain, just made me realize that things that might hurt you in life can also be made harmless. It is all in the way you look at it. Be scared, but take chances. Wear your swimming costume and explore the world.

Happy Easter!!! Have a blessed time with family & friends. Drive safe. x
